Stop Pest Infestation

Pests can be found anywhere anytime of the year. From residential places to healthcare facilities, airline industry to shipment areas, hotel industry to commercial buildings – pests are seen everyplace.  Pest control is not a permanent solution to pest infestation.

There are certain things you need to do, certain measures you need to take in order to stop pest infestation for a long time.

Following are few measures taken by commercial complexes to block the entry of pests:

  • Opt For Daily Cleaning Services

Commercial buildings are huge properties. Few cleaning helpers cannot do justice to the entire property. You will have to opt for daily services for cleaning your building. These people come in large numbers and with necessary equipment. They know the whereabouts pretty well and are professional when it comes to their job.

Regular cleaning leaves no space for pest infestation as the cleaning staff looks after the pests and brings the same to your attention for immediate action.

  • Avoid All Reasons for Pest Infestation

Train your staff to behave well on the premises, ask them to not to litter food or food products, keep the trash cans closed and all the food covered to avoid pest infestation. Checking any water leakage and keeping all the wet areas (like washrooms and toilets) dry and clean.

Pests find any reason for their survival. They not only rely on food, but other reasons too to survive in any commercial building.

  • Throw Trash Every Day

Commercial buildings have too many offices and people working in the same facility. Definitely, there will be an accumulation of too much of trash. If this is not looked into properly, pests will start breeding in open and accumulated trash. Ensure that the maintenance staff cleans the trash daily and keeps the cans tightly closed.

  • Ensure Regular and Deep Cleaning

Deep cleaning is not what you do daily. Deep cleaning involves removing all the furniture and office machinery and decluttering all the unnecessary and obsolete stuff. You will need to do this even if you have to keep your office closed for a day. This action will save you lots of money and time in the future.

Deep cleaning ensures no pest infestation. The maintenance staff will lift everything to reach places where regular cleaning seems to be impossible daily.

  • Be Done With Regular Maintenance

Commercial buildings can go through their own wear and tear with time. Also, the infrastructure like the glass door and staircase gets worn out after so many people using the same. Pests need a little opening or gap to make an entry. Even small crevices on the walls are enough for small pests to breed in.

Once they are in, the numbers start to increase within no time. The moment you see any damage to your commercial property, be very quick in getting the repair work done.

  • One Designated Dining Space

Almost all the commercial buildings have a designated dining place for their employees. Either the dining area is situated on one floor or each office per floor has its own small and dedicated dining space. No office employee is allowed to eat in any place they want. The reason is pests smell food or food litters from a distance and start entering in that area.

  • Ensure All Deliveries Are Checked

Office deliveries also include food and food products. There are instances where rats entered the commercial premises from the delivery boxes. There may be other small pests too in or on the delivery boxes that need to be taken care of. Do not allow these deliveries directly in the office space. Direct them to the warehouse in the commercial building, if any.
